One of the Best :)))

Writing is not really my interest. I find it boring and dull. Actually, I find it a hard task because you have to make a creative and interesting writing piece that will be like by your readers. Blogging is not new to my ears. The only thing I knew about blogging is that people want to share things that suits to their interests that might suits to the interest of others. They can share their thoughts and ideas through writings, pictures, videos, and etc. But I admit to myself that I’m not an avid reader of any blog sites in the world on virtual reality.
When Professor Angelina Borican required us, BCR 3-2 to create own blog sites and write our blogs as part of our requirements in Online Writing, I was a little bit worried because writing is not my line and interest. She said that we are free to choose our own theme for our blog sites and the topics we want to share. I was relieved when my group mates: Cheng, Almera, Kathlyn, and Claire agreed to the theme of fashion. You know what, though I’m not that the fashionista, I love looking other people’s fashion statement especially shoes. I love looking them on how they carry they clothes, how do they do the “mix and match style, what to do and not to do, what should they have, etc.

In this activity, it realized that it was difficult to find topics for a blog. You have to think of first or predict the possible topics that will suits to the interest of your readers to be able to attract them to read your blogs. I also realized that how will you advertise or let the people know about your blog site. Of course, your blog entries will not be effective in no one reads your stories. A blogger should think of other ways or style of presenting their entries to be able to attract your customers like movie, slide shows, pictures, etc.
All of my entries in our blog sites really suit my interest like the nail art, vintage fashion and what a guy should have in their wardrobe. There are times that I have to change topic because i have found out that sometimes it is boring and dull. You know what, in my facebook account, I have added a lot on online shop to look for some ideas about current fashion trends.

There are a lot of experiences happened that I can’t forget in this blogging experience. I have learned more new things about fashion. One thing I can’t forget in this blogging experience is when our account in blogspot.com was hacked. We’re all shock about that. We are worried because all of our entries and pictures in our blog sites we’re all gone and cannot be open again.
Everything new to me is a wonderful experience for me. I admit I was wrong to say that writing is not boring and dull after all. It was also a very worth it activity. I have experience to explore new things and activities for me. These experiences were a very good one because as what they have or people said, “experience is one of the best teacher”.

I have enjoyed blogging very much but I can’t leave or say a word that I will continue writing on this. I was inspired by some of our feature people that came from different university about their mottos in fashion. But my fashion motto statement is that “Don’t be a trying hard, just be yourself and carry yourself with confidence.

Experience It Online

by Rachel Ann Cardenas

The day our professor told us that our subject is about writing online, specifically blogging, I was quite excited. I've always wanted to try blogging back then but I have no idea on what to blog, and I just feel like no one would  even bother reading my blog except for myself. This is a new experience not only for me but for all of us. Though there are times that I post notes or random things on my Facebook account, blogging is still different in many ways.

It was fun creating the blog. I was the one assigned to create the blog and design it. Boy! it was hard at first because I don't know anything about designing a blog. But with the help of many tutorials and reading instructions on the net I was able to customize it with the perfect design for our theme which is fashion. I was so enthusiastic with the outcome.

Since we are a group, we decided to write about student's fashion since all of us are students and we like to dress. Being a fashion lover, I find it easy for me to come up with a topic entry since I already know many things when it comes to fashion. We decided to interview students and get there actual picture to be posted on the blog. It wasn't hard to look for our subjects since the students are very helpful and humble to take part on our adventure of blogging. The only hard part we encounter was when our blog was hacked. I was like O___O and T.T after I saw our blog. Good thing we saved our entries and our professor was kind enough to give us time to create a new one.

I was never confident with my writing because I'm not really an expert at it. It's not like I'm bad with writing, it's just that I have my own form of writing that some people take as unprofessionally written. Writing on this blog was quite a challenge for me because I have to be careful with no mistakes since my post can be read by anyone online. Thanks to my group mates since they also helped me improve my writing, especially with grammar.

Having this blog was a great learning for all of us especially to me for I was never much of a fan of writing because I like reading more. But because of this blogging requirement I was able to explore my skills in writing and I learned that writing is not that bad as long as you try. Though I may not create my own blog anytime soon because of the hectic schedule, maybe one day when I'm 100% confident of my writing skills I'll create my own blog. I'll still continue writing about myself offline, but for now I'll focus on good things like studying. When time comes I might be able to write my own novel online and who knows I might be the next Bob Ong

I Blogged!

by Almera Y. Arabis

To write online was something new to me. And at first I hated the idea because I have never been confident on the way I write. Another reason was the fact that a lot of people will have the chance to read and criticize my writings. It made me fearful that I might do some mistakes which will cause me embarrassment. But after posting my first article a realization suddenly hit me, -- GREAT, I realize how great it feels whenever you finish one article and be able to post it online. Another feeling that I won’t ever forget was when I saw someone’s name on the followers list, the fact that we were not yet promoting our blog. It was PRICELESS.  It’s a simple act but a big thing for our group because it’s a recognition and a sign that someone appreciates our blog. Aside from this, I also won’t forget the time when our account got hacked and that was one of teeth grinding experience dude, the most of us were like one hell of panicked babies. And I can’t remember how many times we have cursed that hacker, although we really don’t have any idea who that “attackerboy” was. We were really mad that we even planned on learning how to hack on someone’s account but thanks to the questions “Can we really do that? Are we that evil?” that we did not pursue on our plan—hahah.

Thanks to this activity that I learned a lot of things. I’ve learned the proper way of writing online. I’ve learned to work under pressure, the fact that we need to submit and post our articles on a specific deadline. I’ve learned to pay attention on things that I usually don’t pay attention to, to write considering your readers’ interest and to do tasks without stepping on other people’s views and opinions. This experience even made me want to create my own personal blog. And I will be doing it not because I am required to but simply because I like doing it.

Blogging, Can I?

by Kathlyn G. Clemente

I am not new on blogging, I have done one but failed to pursue it because of lack of the ability to write good articles and the absence of interesting topic. Through blogging people can express their ideas and emotions, plus their opinions about something they have seen. Sometimes it is a way for a person to show and tell who they are. There are a lot of different blogs circulating on the internet, from fashion, to politics, to personal and lot more.

Making our group blog is one of the requirements that our professor has given to us. We need to upload stories at a given deadline. We’ve been tasked to blog about our own field of interest. For us, we have chosen the student’s fashion. We did observed and asked students around the campus about their fashion statements and styles. While doing the blog we did interview our fellow students around the campus in order for us to have enough opinions and information on what they say about fashion. It is nice to have an experience of talking to them because it practices our skill on interacting towards people. Writing online or blogging is a very powerful tool in expressing such views and informing people. Having the experience of blogging is quite fun. We have felt the responsibility of our writing. Even though we do take fashion as our center of interest, we still have the task not to step on others people views or opinions. We did consider that we are giving information and assures that they had fun reading it. There came the time that our blog site has been hacked. All of our entries are gone, luckily I have saved my entries to my email and laptop therefore no hassle thinking of writing it again. We as a group immediately addressed the problem and solve it. We did make a new blog. There are just moments that we are faced with something that instead of cursing and complaining, we just need to solve the trouble right away without feeling so much stress.

One of my goals in life is to have a very sensible blog. I just have a dilemma that I am not good in writing and hard to produce an interesting one.  I know the fact that blogging can move people. It is widely used by students and intellectual people who care and aware on what’s happening around them. This requirement made me realize that it is fun to write online and also to see who’s going to follow and will have their comments, even though we gather a little. Nevertheless, it is still a fulfillment.

My Adventure Online Ơ̴̴͡.̮Ơ̴̴̴͡

by Mary Claire Amandy¯\_(ツ)_/¯
October 15, 2011

I really enjoy this blogging experience especially because it’s a group blog and we can choose whoever we want to be within the group. Of course! I chose to be with my friends and we had agreed to have a fashion blog. When we’re talking about how our blog should go I am already worried because I am thinking of the entries that I will upload. Will it make sense? Will people read it? Gosh! What if nobody read my entry? More than ever our grade will also depend on how many will follow and read our blog. Haha thoughts like that are kept flashing through my mind. I can’t help it I haven’t experienced blogging. I am new to this. Plus the fact that we will feature different fashion sense of students from different universities and the new and “IT” trends these days.

It was fun sharing tips and suggestions about fashion even though I am not that into fashion. Yeah right! Haha how will you be able to give tips and suggestions about fashion if you yourself need it? But then with the help of my friends I manage to do it. Before the due date of uploading of entries, we interview students from different colleges to describe their craze and ask tips and suggestions. Before we did this “interrogation” thing, my thought was like “everyone is wearing the same clothes I mean blouse, T-shirt, shorts, pants, what’s the difference?” Afterwards I learned that everyone is different from each other because of the reasons of why they are wearing what they are wearing and that makes them UNIQUE from the rest.

My first blog entry was about a make-up tutorial on how to be a “ROCK CHICK!” I studied cosmetology when I was in high school but I’m not really into it so I just learned the basics in putting a make-up. I know my learning about this course is not enough so I got help from the video tutorials in youtube. I was sooo happy when we first uploaded our entry. When I was thinking of what my second entry will be I thought that if my ideas of my first entry is from the videos that I watched, why not make a video. I decided to make slide show and got the pictures from the online shops. Surely I ask the owner of the online shops if I could use the images of their products and ask them some questions about their business. It was entertaining to make a slide show since it’s also my first time to make one. On the third entry, since we love to man-hunt we agreed to feature male fad like how they fix their hair, their clothing, their accessories and etc. well I prefer to feature the male’s flavour when it comes to wearing jeans in view of the fact that there’s a lot of jeans’ design now.

Everything’s running smoothly when our DISASTER came! OUR BLOG WAS HACKED! OMG! Haha my friend texted me saying someone hacked our blog. And I replied with “OMG! What the hell happened? Masyado ata nagandahan sa blog natin.haha” that was my initial reaction well that is because I don’t want to stress myself and I know that all is going to be well. Nevertheless when I realized that all our entries was deleted and remembered that our professor will rely on our blog in grading us that’s when the panicky feeling came. Well, thank you to our excellent Dean, Mam Angie. She allowed us to make a new blog and upload again our works. ^_^

I am not really into writing however I enjoy this blogging thing and it turned out that this is not just a requirement for me but a time for me to bond with my classmates slash friends. Also it’s a learning experience for me because it gives me chance to explore myself into other fields of writing. Hope one day I’ll have the courage to make my personal blog and discuss things that will people will be fond of.

Tough times never last, tough people do ^_^,v

The Guy’s Wardrobe Must Haves

September 26, 2011
by Jean Elejorde

Women may have more fashion options but men have no shortage options whenever they decide on their fashions. If women have the “wardrobe’s must haves”, the men are also into with it. Men’s fashion trends are momentary, so when buying clothes, one must focus on classic looks that are always in style and can be mix and match with other clothing items. There are many clothing items that every man should own that they can be worn in their work and in other social settings.
Sampson Quain, an eHow Contributor, identified some of the clothing items that will never be out of style in her article “What Clothes Should Every Guy in His Closet”? Here are some of the items a man must have in his wardrobe:

Casual Trousers
·       Casual trousers can be dressed up for work or dressed down to wear at clubs or other social environments. Most men instantly think of khakis, which is fine, but you may wish to diversify your wardrobe by also selecting all-wool trousers and cotton blends, such as chinos. In terms of color, stick to the basics: navy, black, gray or beige. Casual trousers should be loose and comfortable, unlike dressier trousers, which are often more form-fitting

Shoe
Although they're not technically items of clothing, good black shoes are invaluable for completing a man's look. Shoes that are poorly chosen, the wrong color or out of style can ruin what is otherwise a killer combination of shirt, suit and tie. A basic pair of black shoes should be rounded at the toes, not square, and should be made from genuine leather. If you can only afford one pair, buy shoes that have laces to give you the classiest look. Once your budget expands, you can purchase brown dress shoes that can be matched with jeans or casual trousers.
Suit
·         A good suit is a basic requirement in every man's closet. This applies even if you don't work in a job that demands formal wear. A nice suit expresses class and style, and can be worn for parties, weddings and important meetings. Your suit should be made from wool and should fit perfectly---meaning you should have it professionally tailored. Black, gray and navy blue suit jackets never go out of style, and can be paired with a variety of slacks. Double-breasted suits used to be in fashion, but single-breasted suits with two buttons are the classic style as of 2011.

White Dress Shirt and Tie
·         A classic white dress shirt is an essential part of every man's closet. It can be worn with a sweater and paired with dress pants, casual trousers, jeans and even the right kind of shorts. A good white dress shirt should be made from cotton, and should have a spread collar that allows you to wear a tie or still look refined without one. Like a good suit, a classic dress shirt should be properly sized and professionally tailored.
Adding a good tie to your wardrobe gives you more options when putting together an ensemble. You can never go wrong with a solid black, dark gray or navy blue tie, but you can also choose more bold stripes and colors to add some zest to your wardrobe.
 Jeans

·         Although it may seem obvious for every man to own at least one pair of jeans, selecting the right pair is important. Light blue, white and stonewashed jeans are not in fashion as of 2011, and should only be worn at home, if at all. Dark blue and black are the best color choices, because they can be dressed up or dressed down depending on the situation. A man's jeans should not have holes as a fashion statement, but should be solid and well-made. Jeans should fit comfortably, but shouldn't be overly baggy. Skinny jeans, once designed exclusively for women, have become popular with teenage boys, but men should stick to classic jeans.

WEARING BRIGHT!

September 25, 2011
by Kathlyn Clemente

Bright colors are the one that makes an individual stand out or remain barely discernible. It is typically applied in fashion particularly to women, but how about to men?

Normally when we saw men wearing bright colored outfit we implied that they are a gay, having the reason that men do not regularly wear loud or bright colored attire because it is commonly symbolizes femininity. Back in time during the 80’s and 90’s, it was the moment that people are wearing bright colored clothes and it is very trending. It may give the impression of being childish and weird to someone but this modern time, it is now a hip way to show how modern youth, particularly men, can play on their ideas on being trendy. Most men believed that wearing it increases their masculinity because they are brave enough to prove themselves and not afraid of criticisms of people who are narrow minded. Real men can wear it without worrying on having a controversy of being a gay. It makes men stand out from the rest and it is a very successful way to be a magnet for the attention of women. Men look smashing and positive that makes women stare at them and at the same time it builds their strong personality. It is also an endearing look to men who brings interest to the dreary getup that women will definitely like.

This proves that fashion is not only for women, men can also have the sense of fashion. From bright to dull colors, as long as men or women can have the guts to turn it into a glamorous style then no one can prevent them to show what they look.

Do it like a dude

September 26, 2011
by Almera Arabis

Men, just like women, need to groom. Men need to look fresh and young, to be attractive and to be refreshing. Whether you are panky type, or you’re a more of a classic type, or a guy always on formal attire, or a gothic guy, or even a rockista, you need to always look on the go. The key actors are skin care, wardrobe, attitude and a perfect perfume as well. So is the hair. Grooming won’t be complete leaving the hair messy. Even if you are wearing the trendiest clothing in town if you don’t give enough effort on your hair, everything will be useless. Here are some simple routines that can help you maintain a manly look with your hair.

Steps

Shampoo: Choose a nice shampoo with a scent that would be appealing to other people’s taste, a shampoo with a ph balanced to keep your hair looking healthy and clean. Shampoo your hair twice in every bath to ensure that the scalp is thoroughly cleaned up.  This can make you look cool and feel great.

Tone: Gently massage your scalp with your fingertips or the pads of your fingers and not with your fingernails as if you are making a spider push-ups with your hands. Make it a routine whenever taking a bath even for just a few minutes because it helps the scalp release its natural oil since most of the oil is near the scalp and doing this is a good thing for the hair.

Condition: Condition your hair with a moisturizer. This can make your hair look smooth especially if you have dry hair.

Pat Dry:  don’t rub your hair when drying, do it in a squeezing motion or on a direction the hair grows to avoid tangles causing damage to hair cuticles which can lead to frizziness and split ends. And blow drying can also damage your hair and scalp but if it’s a necessity for you to use a blow dryer, apply a thermal styling spray to coat the hair and protect it from damage.

Stay away from Chemical Treatments. Don’t torture your hair with repeatedly coloring because this can make your hair look dry, dull, and lifeless. If you have an extra penny, you can go to a professional stylist to give the proper treatment for your hair type. Don't be cheap when it comes to hair styling products. It’s better to spend for good quality gel, pomade, or any other hair products than to be problematic on how to revive your old hair after it has been damage because of using cheap and low quality products.;

Use the Right Tools when grooming. Use natural bristles brush, wide-toothed comb if you have curly hair and if combing wet hair to lessen tangles. Avoid using blow dryer and irons to keep your hair looking healthy. Have a healthy lifestyle, eat nutritious food, exercise, drink 8 glasses of water daily, get enough sleep, doing all of these will result  in a healthier scalp and hair.

Choose a nice style pal choose a comfortable hair style that can easily be maintain and suits your lifestyle. If you have a short hair, you probably won’t need any styling maintenance since it will style itself with the help of the natural oil from your scalp.

Minimize the use of tight hats dude. The use of tight hats can cause traction alopecia or falling hair. This can lead to a permanent damage to the scalp and might lead to baldness. So if the occasion or situation doesn’t require it, you better avoid the use of tight hats.

Keep it Trimmed. Get your hair trimmed every six weeks, by this, you can prevent the worsening of damaged hair such as split ends. Choose a hair cut that is age appropriate and that can make you look years younger in appearance. Consider the shape of your face in choosing the right hair cut. Trust your trimmings and hair cut only to professionals.

Get Rid of Gray. Gray hair can add a few years to your appearance, so better get rid of them, by that you will be able to look age younger than your real age. Avoid home jobs because wrong choice of chemicals might give you a bad hair day for how many weeks or months so, better ask for the skills of professionals to avoid damage on hair.
